Two months to go - The countdown is on to the 2023 UCI Track Champions League

Season three kicks off in Mallorca on Saturday 21st October, with subsequent rounds taking place in Berlin, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and London.

21 August 2023 – London, Great Britain: The world’s best track cycling talent are set to compete for the highest stakes in the sport as the new season of the UCI Track Champions League gets underway at the Velòdrom Illes Balears in Mallorca, Spain on Saturday 21st October.

The five-round series then moves to the Berlin Velodrom in Germany on Saturday 28th October, and visits the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in France on Saturday 4th November before descending on the Lee Valley VeloPark in London, Great Britain for the concluding double-header on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th November.

Tickets for Rounds 4 and 5 in London, both of which were completely sold out last season, are already available and fans can purchase them HERE.

Tickets for the Mallorca, Berlin and rounds will be available soon and fans can register their interest by clicking HERE (Mallorca) HERE (Berlin) and HERE (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines).

The series will feature many of the same riders who lit up the UCI Cycling World Championships in Scotland earlier this month, with the roster set to be revealed in the coming weeks.

If last season is anything to go by, fans will be guaranteed some incredible action. The Men’s Sprint battle between Harrie Lavreysen and Matthew Richardson in 2022 proved to be one of the most thrilling contests of the campaign, with Katie Archibald and Jennifer Valente’s Women’s Elimination duel also keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The Men’s Elimination went right down to the wire too, with Claudio Imhof ultimately edging out Sebastián Mora by the tightest of margins, while Mathilde Gros ultimately proved the dominant force in the Women’s Sprint.

The 2023 series will also have added significance for riders and supporters alike as it acts as a stepping stone between the UCI Cycling World Championships and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Florian Pavia, Series Director of the UCI Track Champions League, said: “It’s exciting to have reached this two-months-to-go milestone as everyone associated with the UCI Track Champions League can’t wait for it to return. We’ve been planning the series since the start of the year and it’s always gratifying to see those plans come to fruition.

“Obviously, the hard work will ramp up even further over the next eight weeks, and with all five rounds taking place in quick succession, it’s going to be easy for fans to follow, and the quick-fire racing format, elaborate stage show, and cutting-edge digital technologies will once again provide a fully immersive experience.”

Since its launch in 2021 the UCI Track Champions League has consolidated its place as one of the ‘Monuments’ of track cycling, sitting alongside the UCI Track World Championships, UCI Track Nations Cup and Olympic Games at the very pinnacle of the global racing calendar.

The series – organised in partnership between the events division of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) – makes track cycling more accessible and exciting than ever before, elevating the sport to new levels and reaching new audiences in the process.

As well as captivating thousands of fans inside the velodromes, the exploits of the world’s best riders will once again be beamed across the globe, with discovery+, Eurosport, GCN+ and a host of international broadcast partners bringing the sport to countless screens.

Last season over 18,000 fans watched the action in person, with 11.4 million TV viewers tuning in from 81 countries around the globe and millions more fans following the action on the official UCI Track Champions League app and social media channels.
