22 July 2021 – Paris, France: The UCI Track Champions League today confirms that free-to-air network SBS will offer live coverage of the Union Cycliste Internationale’s (UCI’s) innovative new track cycling series in Australia. SBS joins a host of international broadcast partners that are set to be announced in the lead up to the league’s first round on November 6th.

SBS joins host broadcaster Eurosport, which is already set to bring the new league to viewers in Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. The agreement with SBS was made together with Eurosport Events, the Discovery-owned event management business and global promoter of the UCI Track Champions League.

This latest move comes as part of the UCI and Eurosport Event’s ambition to see the new league elevate the sport to a new level of global prestige and bring track cycling to a fresh international audience. Track cycling fans can expect confirmation of further exciting international broadcasting partnerships over the coming weeks, ahead of the league’s inaugural round in Palma, Mallorca.

SBS Director of Sport Ken Shipp said: “SBS prides itself on being the home of cycling, and we’re thrilled to broadcast the UCI Track Champions League later this year, live, free and in HD. Australia has a long-standing love of cycling and SBS’s new broadcast deal with the UCI is a valuable addition to our unparalleled slate of world-class sporting events.”

François Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events said: “Today’s announcement sees SBS join a growing list of confirmed international broadcast partners for the new UCI Track Champions League. This is another significant step towards delivering a broad reach and new audiences to track cycling. We’re also excited to bring the new league to Australia’s strong contingent of dedicated track cycling fans of course. As we draw closer to the inaugural round in November, we look forward to announcing a host of international broadcasters for the UCI Track Champions League.”
