Laura was one of the breakout stars of the London 2012 Olympic Games, winning gold in Omnium and gold in the Team Pursuit at just 20-years-old. At Rio 2016, she earned two more golds, defending both her Omnium and Team Pursuit titles. This achievement left Laura the first British woman in history to win four Olympic golds - but her Olympic triumphs didn’t stop there.
At the most recent Olympics in Tokyo, she clinched a gold in the Madison event after a dominant performance with two-time UCI Track Champions League Endurance Champion, Katie Archibald. She additionally secured a silver medal in the Team Pursuit, alongside Katie and fellow UCI Track Champions League cyclist Neah Evans.
Laura’s incredible success extends far beyond the Olympic Games, with 14 European titles and seven World Championship titles, including gold in the Team Pursuit for four consecutive years between 2011 and 2014. She was also part of teams that broke the Team Pursuit world record on a remarkable 11 occasions between 2012 and 2016.
In 2022, Laura was given a Damehood in the New Year Honours List for her services to cycling.
