UCI TRACK CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ATHLETES SHINE AT UCI NATIONS CUP IN HONG KONG

The second round of the UCI Track Nations Cup took place in Hong Kong, China. Across three days of competition, 17 medals were won by 12 UCI Track Champions League athletes, with six riders earning golds.

Great Britain’s Emma Finucane had a great competition picking up a remarkable three gold medals in Keirin, Sprint, and Team Sprint. Teammates Katy Marchant and Sophie Capewell were among the gold medal Team Sprint winners. 

2023 Men’s Sprint Runner-up, Matthew Richardson (Australia), also had a successful showing, claiming silver in sprint and gold in the team sprint. 

Other gold medallists included: William Perrett (Great Britain – elimination race) and Tobias Hansen (Denmark - team pursuit). 

Several riders also claimed podium positions: Lara Gillespie (Ireland - bronze in omnium and silver in team pursuit), Eiya Hashimoto (bronze in madison, silver in team pursuit), Anita Yvonne Stenberg (Norway - silver in elimination race), Jules Hesters (Belgium – silver in elimination race), Sam Dakin (New Zealand - bronze in keirin) and Sebastian Mora (Spain – silver in madison). 

The athletes will head to Milton, Canada on 12-14 April for the final round of the Nations Cup.
