Racing format

The UCI Track Champions League is a league format where every round will feature the same race programme.

Riders score points across the five rounds in either the Sprint or Endurance category. Each category has two different types of races in which competitors can accumulate points:

Sprinters will race in both Sprint and Keirin
Sprint: Race between 2 to 3 riders over 3 laps.
Keirin: Riders compete in a sprint after completing a number of laps behind a motorized pacer who leaves the track 3 laps to go.

Endurance riders will race both Elimination and Scratch
Elimination: Individual race in which the last rider is eliminated every 2 laps.
Scratch: Individual race over 20 laps.

Rankings within the UCI Track Champions League will be determined by points allocated to riders from their performance in each race. Points will accrue in a league table and the overall winner in each of the categories will be the rider with the most points at the end of the series.

At the end of each event the current leader will be awarded the coveted leader’s jersey to wear at the next event.

4 champions awarded: 2 men and 2 women in each category.
